Schezwan Paneer Dry: A Christmas Party Star!

Required Ingredients

  • For the marination and frying of paneer
  • 250 g of paneer or tofu (vegan alternative)
  • ¾ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp f pepper powder and red chili powder each
  • ¼ cup of corn flour
  • 1 tsp of ginger and garlic paste
  • ½ a tsp of soy and green chili sauce
  • A tsp of vegetable oil
  • For the sauté
  • 1 green and yellow bell-pepper cut in cubes
  • 1 onion roughly chopped
  • 2 green chilies finely slitted
  • 1 tsp of finely chopped ginger and garlic each
  • ¼ tsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tsp of each tomato, and schezwan sauce
  • 1 tsp of pepper
  • Half a cup of chopped spring green onions
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • Water as required

Method

  • For the marination, cut the paneer (or tofu) into cubes.
  • Now marinate the paneer with ginger-garlic powder, soy sauce, chili sauce, red chili powder, and pepper powder.
  • Pour ¼ tsp of oil to the marination and add salt to taste.
  • Pour the required amount of all-purpose flour and corn flour and mix all the ingredients and coat them well.
  • Let the paneer rest for around 10 minutes.
  • After the scheduled time, in a frying pan, pour some oil, and fry the paneer till the outer coating turns crispy and slightly yellowish-brown. After they are fried, take them out and keep on a paper towel.
  • Now, in the same pan, add the chopped garlic and onion.
  • Add the bell peppers and onion and sauté till fragrant or for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the tomato and schezwan sauce, soy sauce, black pepper powder one by one.
  • Sprinkle some salt.
  • Splash some water and stir till a gravy like consistency appears.
