Republic Day of India is the center of the country’s celebration of its diversity and unity. The celebration is a combination of the country’s hard power depicted by its military prowess and soft power, built based on its cultural heritage. As India completed its 75 years of Independence in August 2022, it marked the nation’s resilience and marked a journey of momentous achievements in every field including socio-economic indicators. India completing 100 years of Independence in 2047 sets the goal of India being a Viksit Bharat or a developed nation.
As a country, we have made tremendous progress over the years and the nation intends to continue its dedication towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat in areas such as Information Technology and Communication, financial inclusion, space programs, investment in infrastructure, agriculture, and others. Standing in Amritkaal (the golden period) of our country, we have been able to carve a niche of our own. In the recently held G20 summit in India, the country has successfully upheld itself as the Mother of Democracy.
Mother of Democracy is the other theme of this year’s Republic Day, in this context, it can be said that it is a multidimensional concept. The concepts of equality, inclusivity, acceptability, and freedom are intertwined. India’s democracy can be considered a self-help book for its citizens that guides them to lead a dignified and quality life. The Indian constitution and democracy have been inspired by sacred Indian texts like Atharvaveda and Rigveda, and great epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata.
The ideas of Sansad, Parishad, Sabha and Samiti, decision-making, and others have been derived from the great scriptures and texts. Hence, the Mother of Democracy can be considered as the true representation of combined celebrations of the collective strength of citizens of India, cooperation, peace, sympathy, veracity, and collaboration. So come and celebrate this momentous occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day this year with Café Golden Feast, Tinsukia, and Guwahati with warm conversations and delectable dishes.
