Ingredients
- 500 g of boneless fish (basa or bhetki) fillets
- 3 tbsp of oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp of chili sauce
- 1 tbsp of soy sauce
- Around 5 crushed dried red chilis
- 6-8 finely chopped garlic cloves
- 1 tsp of chopped ginger
- 1 sliced onion
- 2 tsp of cornstarch
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp of sugar
- Refined oil
- Chopped spring onions for garnishing
Method
- To marinate the fish, coat it with a pinch of salt and cornstarch, and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- To prepare the sauce, mix chili sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and a bit of water in a small bowl.
- To fry the fish fillets, heat some oil in a pan. Fry the fillets until they are crispy and golden brown on both sides.
- In that pan, sauté some chopped ginger, and garlic along with the crushed dried red chilis in oil.
- Then add the chopped onions and sauté for another minute. Pour the mixed sauce and let it simmer on low heat for around 3 minutes.
- Pour in the fried fish fillets and toss them gently in the aromatics and the sauce for another 2-3 minutes.
- Then garnish with chopped spring onions and voila! You have your Chili Garlic Oyster Fish.
