So, in this blog, considering the fermented base required for the dosa, we provide you the additional guidance to top of your plain dosa. Paired with the tangy chutney and protein-packed sambar, this dish is a healthy balance of nutrition.

To make this dish at home, you can follow the recipe and enjoy South Indian cuisine at its finest.

Required Ingredients

  • 2 cups of fermented dosa batter
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 1 cup of grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 5 to 6 chopped curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp of butter or ghee
  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Ensure that the batter must be of pourable consistency and at room temperature. Add a pinch of salt to the same.
  • Heat a pan and add a tbsp of ghee or butter. Add curry leaves, green chilies and chopped onions to the pan.
  • Sauté them until golden brown. Remove from the heat.
  • Now on a non-stick or a cast iron pan, with the help of a ladle, pour the batter and spread it in a circular motion. Make sure the spread is evenly spread in a thin circular shape.
  • When the dosa starts to appear golden, pour some sauteed onion over it and spread it properly.
  • Now spread a generous amount of grated cheese on top. Let the cheese melt.
  • Fold the dosa and serve with your preferred chutney and of course some hot and tangy sambar.
