Ingredients
- ½ a kg of boneless chicken, cut into thin strips
- 1 tbsp of soy and oyster sauce, rice vinegar, vegetable oil, and sesame oil
- 2 tsp of cornstarch
- Minced garlic (2 cloves) and ginger (1 piece)
- 1 red and 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 sliced onion
- 3 sliced dried red chilies
- For the extra spice, 1 tbsp of chili paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- Pepper and salt to taste
- Chopped spring onions for garnishing
- Sesame seeds for garnishing
Instructions
- To marinate the chicken, take a big bowl. Mix rice vinegar, soy sauce, cornstarch, and oyster to the cut strips of chicken.
- To prepare the sauce, in another bowl, combine sugar, chili paste, oyster, sauce, and soy sauce, along with some splash of water. Keep the mixture aside.
- Now to prepare the chicken, in a wok or a large pan, heat some vegetable oil over medium heat. To the pan, add the marinated chicken and toss until it looks golden brown and properly cooked. Keep it aside.
- To sauté the vegetables, in the same pan add some sesame oil. To stir fry the veggies, i.e. onions, different types of bell peppers, and dried red chilies, toss them in the pan for around 2 to 3 minutes until crisp.
- To combine, add the fried chicken to the pan. Mix the prepared sauce and then stir everything evenly. Until the sauce thickens, cook for around 3 minutes so that the vegetables and the chicken are evenly coated.
- Transfer the prepared Lat Me Kai to a serving dish, and garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.
